GOD
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1.1)
"God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." (Genesis 1.27)
"Ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature, namely, His eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made." (Romans 1.20)

God is self-existent; He always has been there even from eternity and He will continue to be there forever. Although we cannot see God, His nature is revealed to us in the creation. A famous argument for God's existence is found in Plato's dialogue, Timaeus. It argues that evidences of design and purpose in the universe require a universal Designer. But the Bible offers no rational demonstration of God's existence, rather it points to His unquestionable reality. The Bible simply begins with the words, "In the beginning, God ..." (Genesis 1.1).
In contrast, all things come into being, from non-existence, through God's creation. Things do not just happen to appear from nowhere; God created them. Everything — the sky, lands and seas, the sun, moon and stars, all the trees and animals, fish and birds — there is nothing not created by God. The Bible tells us that God is also the Creator of mankind.
Since we are God's creatures, our life apart from God is vanity.
